BANKRUPTCY.
DEBTOR'S EXAMINATION. Matthew Henry Frost made the following sworn statement yesterday before the Official Assignee :—For five years "prior to 1883, I was a land agent in Auckland. It was not a remunerative business, and I left it in debt. Some of these debts are in my present schedule of liabilities. Since 1883, I have been butchering, and carpentering at various times and places,' but have never aucoeeded in earning sufficient to support my family of six young children. I have been a widower seven years. My present indebtedness amounts to £575 12s 2d. Of this, £250 5a 7d was incurred prior to 1883. My only explanation of this large liability, £325 6s 7d, since, in that I have been unable to earn sufficient to support my family. My assets consist of book debts, £640 6s 2d, for commissions prior to 1883. I have no doubt tome portion of this could ba recovered. Some of these debts are beyond the statute of limitation. Beyond this 1 have nothing but a few odds and ends, of the value of about £5, and £5 worth of household furniture, It was my intention to pay off recent debts if I had been let alone, but pressure and a judgment compelled mo to file. Ido not think my friends will keep me now that I have filed. i'." ' , r i"~
