MR. GOSCHEN ON TAXATION.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION. I London, March 22. An influential deputation, consisting of 100 Tory members, waited on Mr. Goschen to-day, asking him, in view of the depression in the farming interests, to make provision in his forthcoming Budget for granting relief to those following agricultural pursuits. In reply, Mr. Goschen said it was his opinion that the time had arrived when it was desirable to review the incidence of taxation generally throughout the United Kingdom, not with the object of remitting any of the taxes, but with a view to bring about a redistribution, so that personal property should be made to contribute more than it at present did.
