THE TARANAKI BOWLERS.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN correspondent.]

New Plymouth, Wednesday. A large gathering of home bowlers and ladies took place on the Now Plymouth Bowling Green to-day, to accord a suitable welcome to the Taranaki team which visited Auckland. The matches played were not particularly interesting, the visiting team and members of the club being mixed up indiscriminately. One exception was the following:— Stohr, Archdeacon Govett, Todd, Paul (skip), v. Davis, Burr, Craigmile, • Downos (skip). The latter scored only 2 to Paul's 21, a somewhat remarkable result. - Now Plymouth bowlers play Wanganui, three rinks a side ou the afternoon of Good Friday. The personnel of the New Plymouth team will be much the same as of the team that visited Auckland.
