[by TELEGRAPH.—PRESS association.] Ditnrdin, Wednesday. The D.J.C. Anniversary Meeting was well attended, the weather being favourable. The racing, on the whole was good. The following are tho results :— Handicap Hurdle Race of COaovs ; second horse lOaovs. One mile and a-half. Mr. Gordon's Garibaldi, 19at (J. Colton) 1 Air. Loughliu's Dunlace, 9dt 51b (Loughlin)

Mr. Poole's May Bay, Sat' 101b' "(carried 9at 21b, owner) 3 Trapper also, ran. Garibaldi led from the fall of the flag, and was praotioally never called on as although Dunlace at one time got near him, it was on sufferance, Garibaldi at once drawing away, and winning as ho liked, May Boy fair third. Time, 3mins 9iec. Dividends, £1 9s 6d— £l 16s. Anniversary Handicap of lOOsovs ; second ,horse lOaovs. One mile and a quarter. Mr. Sherwin's Quibble, 93t (Derrett) ... 1 Mr. Stephenson's Everton Lad, Sat 31b (Sharp) 2 Hon. G. McLean's Mokoia, 6st 51b (Duncombe) 3 Captain Cook (Sat 31b), Puck (Sat 101b),. Fusilier (7st 71b), Mirella 51b), Camerine (oat 91b) started. This was a good race. Mokoia, Camerine, and Fusilier were in front for some time, when the latter dropped back, Puck went up, Everton Lad and Quibble at his heels. Caroerino was then done with, but Mokoia, who was at the head of affairs, looked like lasting; but Everton Lad and then Quibble came with a rush, and a mag. nifioeut finish up the straight ended in the three passing the post locked together in what was almost a dead heat. Quibble had, however, just got up in the last two or three strides, and he was returned the winner by half a head ; only the same distance separated Everton Lad from Mokoia, Captain Cook fourth easing up. Time, 2mlu 17£ sec. Dividend, £2 15s and £2 12s. The whole cf the jockeys in this raoa were fined £2 for disobedience of the starter.

Mr. Kitt's Antrim, 53« eos (McLaren) ... 1 Mr. Mercor's Mabel, 559 ec (Mercer) ... 2 Mr. Kcan's Flossie, 70secs (J. Allen) ... 3 Nino others started. Won by 200 yds.' Time, SminE 32seca. Dividend, £7 19s and £6 lis! Cliffs Handicap, 7530vh ; second horse, lOsova. Six furlongs. Larose got all the best of the start, and was never headed, winning by a clear length from Apropos, Camerine a fair third. Time, lmin 1/accs. Dividend, £2 5s 6u and £2 2s.

One mile, Mr. Stephenson a Miss Webster, 7st 71b (Dyer) i Mr. Simons' Tongariro, 7st 101b (Demtt) 2 Mr. Walter's Pauline, Sat 101b (McDonald) 3 College Boy, May boy, and Iris also ran. Won easily. Time, lmin 51sec. Dividend. £2 5s and £2 2a 6d. Two mile Trot. 45»0v5.; second, lOaovs. third, ysovs. Mr. Mercer's Mabel, 37sec 1 Mr. Lyons' Axe, 21sec '" 2 Mr. Kells' Antrim, 23sec ... ... ..." 3 Axe was leading when he broke, and Mabol, who had also broken, passed and beat him. Dividend, £49 19s and £33 18*. The Hack Kjcb was won by Jennie. Dividend, £2 ti* fid. A total of £3125 was put through. NELSON RACES. Nelson, Wednesday. ™ The weather was magnificent for the races. There were about 2000 persons on the course, and everything passed off without a hitch. Wight started for the Hurdles, Mason's Peter Osbeck winning by a nose, Shearloy's Orient second, Hosking's Freebooter third. The Maiden Plate brought five starters, Peters' Smooth beating Mason's Weasel by half a length, with Newman's Stella, 3. The Selling Hack Race brought sovon starters, Mr. Burgess (late Wellington) winning with Cloud, which ho rode himself. For the Nehon Cup, two miles, there were six starters. Mason's Spado Guinea won easily by a length, Hoskin«'a Rumour second, Mills' Clyde third. The other starters were Fay, Puritan, and Regent. Totalisator dividend, £2 2s. The Railway Plate brought three to the starting post, the remaining four acceptors having been scratched. Teddy Yuille 1, Peter's Smooth 2, Mason's Weasel, 3. The District Race was won by Newman's Stella, Puritan being second, and Regent third.
