That the Board in view of future additions to the Hospital, and of the necessity of keeping large open spaces round the building, does not feel justified in leasing to the council of the University College an acre or any other piece of ground for the purpose of ereoting dissecting rooms near the Hospital. 2. That the Board has offered no opposition to the establishment of a medical school, or a school of anatomy at Auckland, beyond withholding its oonsent to the proposal made on behalf of the University College, and would point out that its decision does not prevent the Council from erecting a dissect-ing-room on any other place where a site oan be obtained. The Anatomy Act will be equally applicable wherever the site may be, for it authorises the establishment of aohoole of anatomy, and in connection with any university or school of medicine and advantage oan be taken of its provisions whether the dissecting-rooms are placed in the Hospital grounds or not. 3. That the Board, without in any way pledging itself to aid the Council in the establishment of a dissecting-room or a school of anatomy, is prepared to appoint a committee (if the Counoil still desire it) to confer with the Council's committee as to the advisability or otherwise of establishing a sohool of anatomy at Auckland in connection with the University College. 5. That the board is induced to take this step in the hope that some practical good will result from the inquiry. The resolutions were unanimously adopted without disouwsion.
