A COACH OVERTURNED.
SEVERAL PASSENGERS INJURED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wanganci, Thursday. A serious coach accident occurred on the Kal Iwi Hill (10 m'les from Wanganui), at four o'clock this afternoon. Ross, coach proprietor, was returning with a four-horse coach, full of passengers, from a big sale »t Moore and Currie's ett%te. On rounding ;i sharp turn in the road, at the top of a stc.; cutting, the coach leaders collided with tn horses of an approaching buggy, with the result that the former backed the coach Wiethe declivity. The coach separated into three sections before reaching the bottom oi the gully, parts of it being knocked into splinters. Of the passengers, Captain Abbott is believed to be badly injured, and was taken to the Kai lwi Hotel. All tho others weie brought to town by train. Piercy (an up-river settler) got two ribs and his collarbone broken; Allom (Thames), » severe scalp wound; Cow per and Shaw, much shaken and bruised; Fraser (Rangitikei) Knight (Napier), Livingstone (Hawera) Peat (Wanganui), and Wallia (Napier), un injured.
