THE BULGARIAN DEPUTATION.
1 ♦ 1 ■' [rkdter's telegram.] Paris, January 8. The Bulgarian deputation has arrived in this city from London. The following are a few brief particulars of the three Bulgarian'delegatea— MM. Grekoff, Stoiloff, and Caltcheff—who are visiting the different European capitals. M. Grekoff, who is about 45 years old, was born at Bolgrad, Bessarabia, and studied law in Paris* He was formerly Minister of Justice, and afterwards Vice President of the Council of State. He was lately Bent on a special mission to Constantinople. M. C. Stoiloff, now Minister of Justice,' was born at Philippopplis, • and is not more than 30 years old. He was formerly Political Secretary to Prince Alexander. M. Stoiloff received his education at Robert College, Constantinople, and afterwards graduated in law at the University of Heidelburg. He speaks English, French, and German with equal fluency, and is a man of very great abilities. M. C. Caltcheff was also born at Philippopolis, and educated at Robert College. High moral training imparted at this excel' lent school, under Dr. Washburn's direction, has been invaluable in forming an honourable and efficient class of officials for the a Bulgarian service; and M. Caltcheff is one of the most brilliant among the many well-edocated pupils of the college, who astonish; strangers visiting Bulgaria by their knowledge of English* and their English modes of thought. M. Caltcheff is 32 years old, and pastes for being the richest man in Bulgaria. He was assistant director of the Financial > Department , in .Eastern ; Roumelia under Aleko Pasha. ' After the revolution at PhUippopo* lis he was elected as one of the deputation of six Roumeliots who were despatched to see the Czar at Copenhagen ; but M. Uglestrom, the Russian Consul at . Philippopolis, informed him that he would not be reoeived by His Majesty, so that he retired from'the deputation. . ~
