t [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN C >RKB?FONDBNT.] Coromandel, Thunday. Mr. John Vaughan, the owner of the Matawai claim, died this morning. Hβ was three days ill. It is supposed his illness was caused by dynamite fames. An inquest will be held.

[BY TKLEGBAPH.—PREB3 ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. A boy named William Scarancke, living at Upper Hutt, was pricking a dynamite cap with a pin, when it suddenly exploded, blowing away four of his fingers and severely injuring his face.
