IMPERIAL INSTITUTE AND EXHIBITIONS. : [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] • London, November 14. ■ The Prince of Wales' oommittee are in favour of widening the Imperial scope of the Institute, and trying to conciliate the city party. The Executive Commissioners intend to present Sir C. Owen with a service of plate in recognition of his services in connection with the Colonial Exhibition. The Fisheries and Health Exhibitions, it is announced., show each a small surplus, and the Inventions a deficit. The Colonial Exhibition has produced a surplus which is variously estimated from £1000 to £5000. i The Prince of Wales has invited the Mayors of the United Kingdom to cooperate in providing the funds for the Imperial Institute. BRITAIN AND EGYPT. London, November 13. Sir Drummond Wolff, the British Special Commissioner to Egypt, has been summoned to London. LONDON MARKETS. London, November 12. Tallow: The market has an upward tendency. Fine mutton tallow is worth 30s per cwt. THE FRENCH RECIDIVISTES. Paris, November 14. The departure of the recidivistes to New Caledonia and the Isle of Pines has been postponed. A Press Association message says■ M. de Freycinet intends to ask for a vote for a penitentiary on the island of Oleron, in the Bay of Biscay, where recidivistes may be prepared for colonial life.
FROZEN MUTTON. London, November 13. A large quantity of New Zealand and River Plate frozen mutton is now in store.
THE S.S. RUAPEHU. Rio Janeiro, November 13. The Shipping Oo.'s Ruapehu, from Wellington on October 21, arrived on the evening of the 11th. The cargo of frozen mutton is in good condition.
