CORRESPONDENCE.

♦ ■ CHRISTMAS PRESENTS TO ENGLAND. TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l notice that our local Meat Freezing tympany are advertising that they will forward meat to England for Christmas ] resents to friends at home. Permit me to i ?late my experience. A short time before last ( hristmas I arranged to hare a prime pieoe of aef forwarded to some friends near Man* o.tester. The meat was delivered in due 0 mrse, bnt in a dreadfully dirty state—in anything but a creditable condition to the sender. Complaint was made to the carrying company on its delivery in such a state, but their reply was that they were only the agents, and the sender should get compensation from N.Z.M.F, Company. Upon application at their offices here 1 am told that the blame lies with the carrying company in England, and so the matter ends to nobody's satisfaction. I have sent formerly through the Gear Meat Company, of Wellington, and the New Zealand lambs they forwarded have been very highly praised. What I want to my, therefore, is this, that before entering into any arrangement with our local company let future clients have the proviso clear and distinot in the agreement that the meat shall be delivered at its destination "in good order and condition," otherwise you pay your money and may get nothing but disappointment.— am, Ac, C. Williamson. November 1, 1886.
