GAS ACCOUNTS.

TO THE EDITOR. ... , Sib,—Allow me to add nay thanks to Liverpool for bis outspoken remarks re gas. My experience for the nine years we have used it is that the more one tries to economise the more' one has to pay. There is not an item in the household expenditure more vexatious to deal with than the gas account, and it will be so, no matter what we say or do, until the monopoly is broken. If that could be done we should have a better article at a much lower rate. Here we have no remedy. We have to put up with a most wretched light (well, we have very oftenmore often than not), and to add insult to injury, pay very often more for it. . There is something very radically wrong ; and in these terribly depressed times, when one hardly knows how to live honestly, something' should be done,—l am, &c, Housekeeper.
