ELECTION AT ONEHUNGA.
A poll took place at Onehunga yesterday for the election of three councillors, vice Messrs. G. H. James, M. Yates, and R. Webb resigned. There were five candidates nominated, but owing to the retirement of Mr. J. Lundon, only four went to the poll, which resulted as follows W. Goldsbury, 118 votes; J. D. Jackson, 109; F. W. Wilson, 108; S. Bright, 66, The three former are, therefore, declared duly elected. Messrs. Goldsbury and Wilson are entirely new members, but Mr. J, D. Jackson has occupied a seat in the Council on three former occasions, being the first Mayor of the borough and twice as councillor. During the Jay great interest was manifested in the election, and the declaration of the Keturuiug Officer evoked rounds of applause.
