ACCIDENT FROM EXPLOSION OF GUNPOWDER.
[by telegraph.— press association.l Chrlstchurch, Monday. Mr. Bullbn, storekeeper, Akaroa, was selling some blasting powder in his yard this morning. The purchaser, Joseph Hewitt, lit some to try if it was damp, when all the powder, several pounds, exploded. Both men, on fire, crossed the road to the chemist's, where their hands and heads were found to be severely burned. They were carefully attended to by the doctor, and are progressing favourably.
