CONJUNCTION OF MARS AND THE MOON.
On the night of Wednesday, 9th Juno, a conjunction of the moon with the planet Mars will occur. At the nearest approach, which takes place between lOh 0m and lOh 25m p.m., the distance separating the moon and planet will be so small that to the unaided vision the discs will appear in contact. At places considerably north of this city, such as the Bay of Islands district, etc,, an occupation of very limited duration will in all probability occur. J. T. Stevenson, F R.A.S. Auckland, June 2, 18S6.
