Potatoes of good quality are wanted, Carrots, mangolds, and pumpkins hare sold at low prices. Bacon of first-class sample is wanted, a large quantity of second-class and interior could not be cleared off. Butter : No good to baud, demand limited, Inferior not wanted. Cheese Hut little to hand, good sample is wanted. Poultry do not improve much in prices. Pigs this week difficult to get a bid for. The auction sales outside and at the mart have bean well attended, and fairly good competition. Monday : Sale of household furniture and cffecta at Mrs. Powell's, Belgrave House, Symouds-street. Tho attendance was very large throughout, and good prices were obtained. Clear-ing-out 3ale of groceries, provisions, Ac., at the Cooperative Store, Hobion-street, was alio well attended, and prices realised were very satisfactory. Tuesday : Sale ot household furniture, &c., at mart. The

attendance was large, bidding brisk. A large quantity of stuff changed hands at prices satisfactory to tlio vendor. Sale at Co-operative Storo was continued with tlic same result a3 Monday. All was cleared out. Wednesday : Sale of fruit- provisions, Ac., at mart. A fair number were present. Prices ruled fairly (rood. Trees and shrubs could not be sold. The sale of jewellery, 4c., was well attended, a /air business was done at prices in favour of tho purchaser. 125 tramway shares sold at 7s S3 each. Tho furniture sale was largely attended, fair prices wero obtained. Thursday: Sale of furniture, &c, at Concert Hall, Greystreet. A small attendance, prices ruled low. Friday: Market-day sale of poultry, produce, fruit, Ac. Attendance large ; supplies not so large as usual. Only good samples of produce would command a price. Fruit brought a very high price. Poultry were entered in good number, prices ruled low. Pigs: But few entered, these were sold with great difficulty at extremely low prices.
