THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN IN ENGLAND.
* [reoter's telegram.] London, May 29. The attendance on the second day of the Australian v. Oxford University match was good, and the weather was fine. The Australians continued their sccond innings, which closed for 3S runs. Jones, who was caught when his score readied 10, being the highest. Whitley, for the Oxonians, took five wickets for 20 runs. The home fielding was very good. The University team, requiring 64 to win, went in for their second innings, but were disposed of for 38,. Brain was the principal scorer, being bowled for 10. Spofforth took six wickets for 20. Garrett secured four for 10 runs. Australians : First innings, 70; second innings, 38; total, 108. Oxford University First innings, 45; second ining», 38 ; total, S3. The Australians thus won the match, with 25 runs to spare.
