THE QUEEN AND THE WINDSOR POOR.

Her Majesty, accompanied by Princess Beatrice, on April 1 drove from Windsor Castle to the town for the purpose of being present at the distribution of soup and plumpudding to the poor and unemployed of Windsor. Thia charity, which is knowu aa Princess Christian's fund, was started during the inclement weather, and has relieved several hundreds weekly. The Queon was received at the Town Hall by Princess Christian, the Mayor of Windsor, and the rector of Holy Trinity. Her Majesty, after witnessing the distribution of the food, expressed herself highly pleased at seeing no large a number provided for and so thoroughly enjoy their food, and also complimented the committee on tho way in which the arrange* ments wero carried out.
