.—♦ - SERIOUS RAILWAY COLLISION, [reoter's telegrams.] Sydney, May 12. A SKRious railway collision occurred yesterday on the southern line near Bowral, eighty miles from Sydney. A tourist train from Sydney and an up goods train collided. The locomotive of the tourist train ran into the other engine, and threw the tender off. Two of the carriages were telescoped, and fifteen persons were injured, but no lose of life is reported. DEATH OF MR. HUGH GEORGE. Sydney, May 16. The death is announced of Mr. Hugh George, manager of the Sydney Morning Herald, and formerly connected with the Melbourne Argus. FRENCH CONVICTS FOR NEW GALE. DONIA. Sydney, May 12. The French steamer St. Martin, from Havre, which put into Newcastle, has on board prisoners for Noumea. The St. Martin is the first of regular liners chartered by the French Government for the transport service at intervals of six months.
