The schooner Ruby, from Russell, brings a cargo of 61 tons coal. The American three-masted schooner E. O. Clark pays another visit to this port, having arrived here on Saturday morning last from Melbourne, with a cargo of salt, fcc. Having explosives on board, she was anchored at the powder ground, from which place she comes up harbour to-day, and will be berthed at the Queen-street Wharf to discharge the balance of her cargo. Her future movements have not yet been definitely decided upon, bat it is anticipated she will, if possible, load kauri gum here for New York. Captain Stahl reports th»t Melbourne was left on the 22nd January latt, and the passage across has only been noticeable for the light and variable winds that prevailed throughout. The North Cape was made on Thursday last. Thtt ».s. Clansman, from Tanranga, with cargo and passengers, arrived early on Saturday morning last, and at 2 p.m. she left again for the Waiwera with a number of excursionists. She returns early this morning, and this evening will proceed to Russell and other Northern ports. The s.s. Glenelg, having towed the barque LochNaw to Mercury Bay, returned to harbour on Saturday afternoon last. At 8 o'clock this evening she proceeds to Whangarei. The steam tug Awhina, which towed the brigantine Oceola to Mercury Bay on Friday last, got ashore on the sandspit off the old mill at the bay named whilst coming out on Saturday morning. Despite the efforts made, she remained fast until Saturday afternoon's high tide, when she came off and returned to Auckland. It is not expebted that the stetuner has suffered any damage. The K.a. Wellington, from Whangarei, and the Argyle, from Mercury Bay, both arrived in harbour on Saturday night with passengers and cargo. This evening the Wellington proceeds to Tauranga, and the Argyle to Mercury Bay. On Wednesday next the Wellington is to make an' excursion to the Waiwora, leaving the Queen-street Wharf at ten a.m., returning again Shortly after five p.m. The ketch Venus, from Opotiki, oame into harbour on Saturday morning last with a full cargo of produce. Fine weather prevailed daring the trip. A schooner outside Tiritiri was signalled during yesterday morning, but at about eleven a.m. it was reported as passed out of sight. It would no doubt be one of the coasting vessels bound to the Thames. The schooner Olive took her departure on , Saturday afternoon last, with a general cargo, for Tonga. En route the schooner is to call at Whangaroa, there to take in a part cargo of timber. Once more the Melanesian Mission steam vessel Southern Cross has left on another of her periodical visits to the Islands of the South ' Pacific, having taken her departure on Saturday ftftemoen last. In addition to a general cargo she also took several passengers.
