THE LICENSING QUESTION.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Sunday. Great interest is taken in the licensing question, and yesterday there were large nominations for three of the wards. For Te Aro and Cook Wards there were ten nominations ; for Lambton, nine nominations ; and for Thorndon, six. The temperance party are holding lectures in favour of their cause. At the Theatre this afternoon there was a large attendance, Sir Wm. Fox presiding. Mr. Glover, who has been engaged by the Temperance Alliance, made a strong appeal to the audience to return temperance candidates.
