[recter's telegram.] * NEW SOUTH WALES MINISTERIAI CRISIS. RESIGNATION OF THE GOVERN' MENT, Sydney, December 16. In the House of Representatives last night Sir John Robertson brought forward a vote of censure on the Government for their Budget proposala. After considerable discussion the debate was ■ adjourned, as the Government were unprepared for the motion. The proceedings during the evening were of a lively character, personalities being freely exchanged between the several speakers. , On the Legislative Assembly meeting r for business this afternoon, the Premier 1 (Mr. Dibbfl) announced that the Government, finding they did not possess a • working majority in the House, had decided to resign. Mr. Dibbs also stated that the Ministry, in placing their resignation in the hands of the , Governor, had advised His Excellency to send for Sir John Robertson. The Assembly then adjourned until tomorrow.
FUNERAL OF THE LATE SIR P..' SCRATCHLEI. Melbourne, December 16. The public funeral of the remains of the late General Sir P. Scratchley took place at St. Kikla Cemetery at ten. o'clock this morning. The ceremony was of a very solemn and imposing character. Various Australasian colonies were numerously and influentially represented The funeral obsequies were performed bj the Bishop of Melbourne. The procession, which was very lengthy, included two Metropolitan battalions of the Victorian Infantry Militia. There was a large attendance of the general public to do honour to General Scratchley's remains. MELBOURNE GRAIN MARKET. Melbourne, December 16. The local manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports of the local grain market as follows :—Wheat, prices are firmly maintained at 3s 10d to 4s 2d per bushel; malting barley is neglected, at 3s to 3s 9d ; New Zealand oats, feed sorts, are quoted at 2s 9d to 2s lid, but the market in dull and prices are drooping; milling descriptions are rather weaker, at 2s lid to 3s ; New Zealand oats under bond, 2s Id to 2s 2d. THE SUEZ MAIL. Albajty, December 16. The Massilia,with the English mails, dated London, November 13, arrived in King George's Sound last night.
