THE COLONIAL AND INDIAN EXHIBITION.

Thames, Friday. Dr. Von Haast held a meeting with persons interested in forwarding exhibits to the Colonial and Indian Exhibition. He said that he had found it as difficult to get samples of any kind from the Thames as if it had been in Central Africa, or at the .vorth Pole. Hβ gave full information, stating he wanted epecimens of quartz and all sorts of minerals, plans of the districts, sections bf mines, and anything calculated to bring the Thames before the English capitalists and scientists. He promised some measure of pecuniary assistance. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to him. Afterwards Professors Haast and Thomas examined the plana of the Imperial, and went down the Cambria, and inspected the various lions of the place. Dr. Haast said the district was full of objects of interest to the geologist.
