[bttelegraph.— correspondent.] Rotorua, Saturday. Although we have been fall up in electioneering matters for the last three weeks, other business matters have not been neglected. The following tenders were received by the Government agent here for alteration and addition to the hospital buildings : — Keys and Rainey (informal), £547 lis; Bennett, three months, £690 (accepted); Manrix Bros., four months, £830; K. Blake, four months, £870 ; R. M. Bell, 10 weeks, £966. Tenders for reaidenoe and. office for the Government agent will olose next week. Work has been started in connection with the improvement of the baths and the grounds surrounding. The policc station is also under order for removal-to the new town. The central cone and principal geyser at Whakarewarewa has been intermittingly spouting to the height of 30 feet during last week, and hrs.attracted many visitors, It is now about four years since the last eruption took plrce. Quite a sensation was created here on the arrival of the intelligence of Mr. Robert Graham's death. Both natives and Europeans feelingly expressed their, utmost sympathy with the bereaved family. Nearly all the places of business closed both on the day of his death and the hour of his funeral.
