The barque Rebecca Crcwell, which left lure on Sunday evening last, bound for New York, has been unable to proceed further than Rangitoto Reef. There she is at present lying awaiting a, favourable wind to gat away on her journey. The barque Wenona, which left for Sydney Island, returned to harbour early yesterday morning. Captain Davies reports the weather so unfavourable outside that he was unable to make any headway against it, and consequently deemed it best to return to port and await r. favourable change of weather. The water tank* were also found to be in anything but a good state of repair, and consequently the defect will be remedied whilst in port. The ketch Fanny Kelly, from Uangonui, arrived in harbour yesterday with a cargo con* listing of 31,653 feet timber. The Union Co.'s s.s. Arawata left Wellington yesterday morning early with 41 bags mail matter for Auckland, which was transhipped from the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s s.s. Bimutaka at the port named. Tie Arawata is due here on Friday (to-morrow). She alto brings several of the paiaengers for this port who have arrived by the Rimutaka from horns. . The wreck of the barque Mary Ann Annison (which was recently lost at the Kaipara Heads) w*», with her cargo, sold by auction yesterday aad realised: For the vessel, £5, and for the cargo £20. Mr. J. Sheehan, of the Kaipara Heads, was the purchaser. The s.s. Thomas Russell, from GUborne and Napier, arrived in harbour last renin with a general cargo, amongst which was 39 head of cattle.
