CHILD DROWNED AT THE AWANUI.
A sad case oE death by drowning occurred at the Awanni on Monday last. About eleven a.m., a girl, about 13 years of age, named Annie Berger, an adopted daughter of Mr. Spanhake, sen., went to the river for water, and as she did not return, search was made for her. The pail was standing a few. yards from the bank, but the girl could not be found. The river wea thereforu dragged, and the body recovered by Mr. Ludolph Subritzky, of the schooner Medors. An inquest was held on Tuesday before Mr. H. W. Bishop, R.M., and a jury, of whom Mr." J. Anton Subritzky was chosen foreman.'
