,The. soiree in connection with the anniversary services of the Wesley an Church, Ponsonby, will take place this evening at halfpast six in the sohool-room, and the after meeting in the. church. The chair will be taken by Mr. Thomas Peacook, M.H.K., aed addresses will be given by various ministers and friends. The chu'roh choir will render musical selections. There was an alarm of- fire yesterday forenoon, and the Fire Brigade turned up at the station. It proved to be only a case of a I foul chimnoy in Eden Cresoent. ,
