The powder ; magazine at the arsenal exploded,-and ' the shock also caused a gasometer in. ■ the neighbourhood to blow up. Im- ; mense damage was done to the adjoining buildings, and a number of persons in the vicinity, lost their lives. / ROYAL WEDDING AT DARMSTADT. London, May 1. The marriage of Prince Louis of Battenburg, -with the Princess Victoria of I Hesse-Darmstadt, was celebrated yesterday at Darmstadt with • great • ceremony. Her Majesty Queen Victoria, the Prince and Princess of Walee, and the German Crown Prince and Princess, were present.
