A DISTRESSING CASE.
[BY MLEORAPH. —2BKSS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Wednesday. A MAN named Edgar King has been drowned through falling off the railway bridge over the river Taiere, at Otakia. He was walking aleng the line, having missed the train, and fell from the bridge, which is not one far foot traffic." He had intended sailing for Auckland last evening in the brig-Camille with his family. The brie was detained till this morning, when hie wife and seven children took their departure as he did not turn up. They will arrive in Auckland penniless. Our own correspondent telegraphs :—An old man named Edgar King, a tailor, who had arranged to-proceed to Auckland with his family by the brig Camille, went to the Taieri yesterday for hie son, and having missed the last train started to walk in. In crossing the railway bridge at Otakia he fell into the river and was drowned. The Camille sailed this morning with his family, who were unaware of the fate of their father. King has a son in Auckland.
