NEW HALF-SOVEREIGNS.
London, April 25. It is announced that Mr. Ohilders* proposals set forth in the budget speech last night, regarding the issue of the new half-sovereigns, will not affect the Australian coinage. LONDON MARKETS. London, April 25. Consols have fallen to 102. New Zealand securities remain at the following quotations :—s' per cent. 10-40 loan, 103J; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 105; 4£ per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 101^; 4 per cent, inscribed stock, ioij. Adelaide wheat, ex store, has advanced to 44s ; New Zealand ditto remains at 34s to 40s, and Adelaide flour - at 28s. Australian tallow has declined 6d to Is per cwt. Average quality beef ia now quoted at 36s j ditto, mutton, at at 395. Copra : Sydney sundried remains at £18 15s. Leather: Best Australian sides have advanced to ll£d. Wool: The market is quiet. Arrivals to date for next ' series of colonial auctions now amount to 326,000 balea.
