Donald Dinnie and Professor Miller had a trial of strength at lifting weights at the Exhibition Buildings, Melbourne, on April 5 for a stake of £100. The contest consisted of five feats at liftiag dumbbells, etc., and a point was scored to him who excelled. The result was that each had won at his own practice, and it was finally decided by a trial of one-arm lifting. Miller put up 1701b5., and Dinnie failed three times in succession, and the Australian, consequently won. Another match is expected.
