"YOUTH" DRAMATIC COMPANY.

"Youth" was repeated last night, to a large and appreciative audience. The performance was under the patronage and in the presence of Major Shepherd and the officers of the Auckland district. The audience manifested their pleasure at the various tableaux by repeated rounds of applause. To-night is the last opportunity the Auckland public will have of witnessing this popular drama. Those who desire to see good acting and startlingly realistic stage effects should not fail to be present. The new drama, " The Lights o' London," by Mr. Sims, which lately produced such an effect on the London stage as to engage the attention of the Prince and Princess of Wales, and led, so it is stated, to the Royal Commission to consider the best means of housing and reclaiming the houseless poor of " the great metropolis," will be produced by this company at Abbott's Opera House, on Monday night. The story is that of a love matoh by a country couple, who come to London, where they are reduced to the direst poverty—having to contend with every form of viae and abject misery; The : author has gained a reputation as a social reformer through the realism and strength of this and other dramas. But this one especially appears to have attracted the notice of people in " high places," as illustrating phaseß oE London life which had been previously unknown. . The playing public have already had experience of the great resources of this company. ;.-The mise en scene of the "Lights o' London" is aaid to be even more magnificent than that of the drama whioh inaugurated the season a fortnight- ago, and has occupied the stage every consecutive night since. This being the case, the new drama will have an equally successful run. It affords scope for fine acting, an well an the opportunity for ingenuity and skill in stage effeota. The scenery, by Messrs. Gordon and Hennings, is very beautiful.
