ECCLESIASTICAL NOTICES.
St. Matthew's Chukch.—The Rev. W. H. H. Jervois, son of His Excellency the Governor, is announced to preach to-morrow evening,, when we doubt not that a very large congregation will assemble to hear him and to help with the very necessary work of re-, storing the-parish schools. Winchester's service in F, and Barnley's new 'anthem, "Break forth into joy," are noted for the evening service. In the afternoon there will 'be a special children's service, with address, as announced last Sunday at three p.m. There will be special music through the day. St. Paul's Ohubch.;—The Rev. Mr. Jervois is announced to preach to-morrow in the morning. The reverend gentleman leaves for England by the out going San Francisco mail. PiTT-STREET Wesleyan Chubch.—The Rev. A, Reid will deliver a special discourse in the_.evening, " On the Millennium." WkLLBSLEY-STREET BAPTIST ChUBOH.— The Rev. A. Fairbrother (of the Lake Country Baptist Maori Mission) will preach morning and evenin'e. There will be no service in the. Choral Hall, owing to its being engaged by the Society of Arts. . Devonport Wesleyan Chubch Annivebsaby Sehvices. —The anniversary services will be held to-morrow. The Rev. R. Bain will preach in the morning, and the Rev. W. Parsonson, in the evening. 'On Tuesday evening next, the social soire'e will beheld at half-past six o'clock in the Devonport Hall. Arch Hill Wesleyan Chubch Anniversaby Services. —The anniversary services of the above place of worship will be held to-morrow." The Rev. S. Macfarlane will preach in the morning, and the Rev. W. J. Watkin in. the evening. A special address to young people will be delivered at three o'clock by Mr. CE. Button. A soiree and public meeting will be held on the following Tuesday. Ms. Thomas Spurgeon's Lecture.—A lecture will be delivered by Mr. Thomas Spurgeon before leaving for England in St. James's Hall, on Thursday next, on "The Truth, and.nothing but the Truth." The proceeds will be devoted to the Baptist Tabernacle Fund.' The lecture will treat instructively and humorously of lying, equivocation, exaggeration, gossip, flattery, boastingj etc.
