THAMES VALLEY AND ROTORUA RAILWAY COMPANY.

An extraordinary meeting of this comply was held yesterday afternoon at Mr. Bitger'e office, Queen-street. There was * quorum o£ shareholders in number » sa value present, and Mr. J. M. Cl«k w»» called to the chair. . The Secretary read tse minutes of the last extraordinary meeting; also the notice convening the present mc ?\ ing, and the resolution which was to j» placed before them for the reduction of tw "nominal capital of the company. The resolution was ss follows :—"That the ca P*T of the company be reduced from £400. Wt divided into 400.000 shares of one poun* each, to £300,000, divided into SOO.W" sharee of one pound each, by cacoeWi , ? 100,000 shares of one pound each, whjctt are unallotted." The Chairman moved U8 resolution. He said this matter had been referred to at the last general meeting of tw company, and it was not necessary now w refer to it at any length. . They were going into the market for money, and it was ne< l~j sary that they should have no "un»Uetfe» shares to protect the lenders and prevent «£ directors irom embarking in any speculation or branches.
