Since, this vessel last visited tbis port she has been £tted with one of Haalam's patent refrigonting machines, which has beea. placed in the vessel in anticipation of her proposed trip to the -rarious islands of the South Pacific. Upoa the praaact occasion the large passenger list adds another proof to the increasing popularity, not. only'of this fine steamship, but also of hor commander and officers with the travelling public, a fact that must be very gratifying, to Captain Chatfiold and Hhose under him. The present passage has been exceptionally pleasant weather throughout. Captain Chatfield reports having left Melbourne at noon on the 9th inst. Cleared Williamstown at 4.15 p.m.; passed through - Port Phillip Heads at 6.30 p.m.; paased Swan fsland at 11 a.m. next day. Had a succession of light south-west winds in the passage -across, reaching the Bluff shortly after noon on the 13th.
