The principal- alteration iS" : an'improvemenif !in the end of the,! building facing Queen"fctreet. The station will be far more ex-.' pensive than was at first anticipated! It ia esti mated'that the' cost will be £20;000.' ! The foundation (including piles) will cost £6000. The totara piles;areto be bronghtfrom Manawatu—the lowest tender being received from that district. -The President (Mr. L. IJ;.Nsthan), the Vice-President (Mr. Orates, Aickin), and several members of the Chamber of Commerce, inspected the plans-yesterday, and were much pleased wifchthe aicsrationa which have been made.
