TO THE EDITOR. , Sir,—Localwheat is now being delivered by our farmers mostly all sound, but a portion of it is soft and damp from not being; properly thatohed and: covered; This will not keep for-any length .of time, but will : have to be used right away to prevent i t from becoming weevily. and bad. It is time now that our farmers should know that millerß, cannot use damp, wheat,, and that it is necessary for them to have their wheat in good'! condition; I an extract from .two Ebglish millers' letters to me, which will: show that the Southern farmers are not in. any better position, than .ourown in so far as. the saving of: thewheat is concerned,, thus, damaging the character of New Zealand jybeac in the English market.—l am, &c., ■ John Lamb.
