It is needless to say that this estimate is not based on the "extravagant habits of fashionable society," but ir, is suited to a lady of " moderate pretensions :" —Two silk dresses, "common," 200 dollars ; two ditto, uncommon, 500 dollars; three walking suits, 150 dollars; two house dresses, 100 dollars: one grenadine suit (summer), 75 dollars ; one black alpaca, 40 dollars ; two Swiss dresses (stiuirner) 100 dollars ; six cambric ditto, 225 dollars ; one eveniug wrap, S5 dollars ; three light poplins, 120 dollars ; one love of a bonnet, 50 dollars ; one not so lovely ditto, 30 dollars ; one "plain" ditto, 20 dollar:; one hat, 20 dollars; false hair, 100 dollars; one velvet cloak, 200 dollars; one cloth ditto, 75 dollars ; one set sable furs, 200 dollars ; one " ermine" for evening wear, 175 dollars; one paisley shawl, 100 dollars ; one lace ditto, 100 dollars; laces, 500 dollars; other "eets," 100 dollars ; one set every-day "jewellery," 75 dollars; one for "parties, &.C.," 300 dollars; gloves for a year, 120 dollars ; toilet articles ditto, 99 dollars; lingerie, 350 dollars ; ribbons, 125 dollars ; other mysteries, 149-32 dollars ; five pairs boots, GO dollars; fans, 25 dollars; parasols, 75 dollars ; hair-pins and other hair-rigging, 20.6S dollars ; morning dreeses, slippers, waterproof, silk umbrellas (one lost each month), and various etceteras, 331 dollars ; one prayer-book, 5 dollars. Total, 5000 dollars. Of house rent, household expenses, and "miscellaneous," deponent saith not.— American Paper.
