ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

o COROMANDEL. Nearly all the old members were re-elected. There was no ballot. NGARUAWAHIA, The following seven gentlemen were elected to the school committee, namely:- Messrs. G. F. Dickeson, R. James, D. Thomson, J. Mcßurney, E. Fitzpatnck, D. Coombes, and F. Taylor. At a subsequent meeting of the committee, Mr. Dickeson was elected Chairman. PORT ALBERT. A well-attended meeting of householders came off on Monday, for the election of the District School Committee. Mr. C. Judd was called to the chair. No general report was presented. The balance-sheet was read by Mr. J. S. Mawer, for tUe Secretary, the chief items being:—To balance January, 1883, £S 13s 2d ; grants ami otlv receipts, £12 15s : total, £91 Ss 2d. By cleaning, &c, £7 19s lOd ; balance, £13 Ss 4d .- total, £21 Sa 2d. The following were elected : —Messrs. Longbottom, J. Shepherd, Neal, Judd, W. ETefford, T. A. Gubb, and <V. Payne ; the last by the casting vote of the Chairman, as three of the candidates re ed a equal number of votes.
