THE GOLDFIELDS.
—: —♦ [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] Tfi AROHA MINES. Te Aroha, Friday evening. TRUCKING quartz was commenced this morning, and by Monday or Tuesday it is expected the battery will be at full work again with probably 25 or 30 head for the New Find, and the balance of stampers between the Colonist and other companies. The Moa No. 1 have a trial parcel of ten tons or more on the way down to the battery, which will probably be crushed during next week. The large quantity of tailings which accumulated at tha battery from crushings which took place previous to Christmas are now being treated and proving to be worth as follows :—New Find, 2ozs.; Premier and Colonist, about 15dwts. to the load. This indicates the New Find lodes to be worth fully 3ozs. per ton all round.
