A report upon the quality of the Gas, upon tests made by the Engineer, was brought up by the Streets Committee and laid boforo the Council, at thoir meeting hold on tho 30th ultimo. The report stated—" The result showed that the quality of the gas was equal to 39.80 candles On examination rf the Company's Book (record of tests) it showed that THE GAS IN NO CASE WAS UNDER 18 CANDLES, WHICH IS A HIGH STANCOKE.—This article is now of a high class, being very free from stone and clinker to an extraordinary degree.
