Voltaire by Blacklock—Phantom; Overton—Walnut. A.K.—We cannot say the exact amount won by Chester during his racing career, but are of opinion that Grand Flaneur won the most money in stakes. Sport.—lf you backed Martini-Henri after 1.30 p.m. on September 1, you-are not liable for the wager, for the colt was uot in the race at the time the wager was m-ide. Subscriber.—ln 1848, a horse falsely described as Running Rein, by Saddler, that came in first for the Epsom Derby, but was subsequently proved to be a four-year-old colt called Maccatoeus (afterwards ZiDoni), by Gladiator, and was disqualified, Orlando getting the stakes. It has been stated that Grlailiatenr, who won the Derby in 1565, was a very old looking three-year-old, but further than the remark being made, nothing mor& was done in the matter.
