SUICIDE OF A BUSHMAN.
|BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 IJelensville, Friday. A native haa just riddeQ in irom the Makarau, with intelligence that a raftsman named McAlister, in the employ of Mr. Isaac McLeod, has committed suicide. He had been drinking in Auckland and Selensville for a couple of weeks past, and seemed suffering from the effects since returning to the bush. Last night he eluded the vigilance of those watching him, and made his escape. A search was kept up for two houra, but no trace could be found until this morning, when he wao discovered dead, with his throat cut. An inquest will probably be held tomorrow. ,
