RIOTING IN HAYTI. London, October 3,' ; Telegrams are to hand from Hayti, West Indies, stating that a serious native rising has occurred at Port-au-Prince, the capital. A large body of blacks entered the town, and attacked the foreign merchants, several of whom were killed, and others severely maltreated. The rioters also pillaged the business premises and private houses of the merchants, and committed great havoc. A body of marines from a 1 man-of-war in port was landed to quell the outbreak, and. in an encounter which took place with the rioters several of the marines were killed. BANK "RATE OF DISCOUNT. The total quantity of wool sold since the opening of the series is 360,000 bales. 58,000 bales are held over. In greasy wools, the decline suffered at the outset has since recovered. There has been a good demand for New Zealand wools, fleece and scoured. Combing wools closed about Id lower than the prices ruling at the close of the MayJune series. Good and inferior scoured wools are Id to lower. Crossbreds are rather higher than at the close of the June sales.
