Latest authentic information fully confirms the reports that' have been current of a split in the Cabinet. There is now no doubt but that a rupture in the Ministry has occurredj and it is understood that the Ministry are only awaiting the meeting of the Chambers, which -takes place on the 23rd instant, to announce the fact. It is stated that the Ministers consider that they have been treated with discourtesy and indignity by M, Grevy, and complain of the President's interference with the official actions of his son-in-law, M. Wilson. RETURN OF KING ALFONSO. ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION. Madrid, October 2. King Alfonso returned to this city to-day, and was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the populace. His Majesty received an ovation of unequalled magnificence, and was warmly cheered along the route to the palace. An open reception was held by the King during the day at the palace, and it is estimated that fully thirty thousand persons took part in the proceedings on the occasion. CHARGE OF TREASON. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN TAXATION SCHEME. Adelaide, October 3. In the House of Assembly, last night, the Colonial Treasurer introduced an amended scheme of taxation proposals as follows: —The imposition of a tax of £d in the £ on real property, a tax of Id in the pound on gains or profits arising from personal property, and an income tax of 3d in the pound, subject to certain exemptions. QUEENSLAND REVENUE. Brisbane, October 3. The revenue of Queensland for the September quarter amounted to £709,000, an increase of £59,750 as compared -with the corresponding quarter of last year. The receipts from the Customs increased by £10,000, and the railway revenue shows an increase of £30,000. ,
