A report upon the quality of the Gas, upon tests made by the Engineer, was brought up by the Streets Committee and laid before the Council, at their meeting hold on the 30th ultimo. The report stated—" The result showed that the quality of the gas was equal to 39.80 candles. On examination of the Company's Book (record of teats) it showed that THE GAS IK NO CASE WAS UNDER 18 CANDLES, WHICH IS A HIGH STANDARD." COKE!.—This article is now of a high class, being very free from stone and clinker to an extraordinary degree.
