AUCKLAND ROWING ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of the members of the Auckland Rowing Association was held last evening, at the Waitemata Hotel. There was a good attendance of members—Mr. M. Niccol occupying the chair. The Secretary (Mr. Sibbin) raad the following report:— Tho committeo fa submitting thoir report for the past season have 10 congratulate tho association on tha success which attended their opening regatta on the 28ih April (a prrgramme of which is appended hereto). Tho whole of tho events wore spiritedly contested and passed oir without the occurrence of any of those dlsputos which have militated so much against the success of rowing races in the past. . Tho association are much indebted to the Northern Steamship Company for their liberality in placing the s.s. Wellington at; the association's disposal as flagship at tho regatia. The Treasurer's balance-sheet shows an amount of £2 lis 8d to tho credit of the association, and tlioie aro no outstanding liabilities. The number of members on the roll of tho association for last season was sixty (00), and it is hoped that there will bo a. tage accession to that number this season. The amount of the subscription being but small, tho funds at tho disposal of the committee have been exceedingly limited. It is therefore hoped that tho public, b/liboral donations cither in money or trophies, will ;issist tho association in providing more valuable prizes for competition during the coming season. It has been by soveral I members of tho Itob Roy Canoe Club that arrange- • ments mUht be niade to allow of the above club joining tho association. The committee recommend the suggestion to tho consideration of their successors.
