WAIKATO TO DISTRICT NEWS.

[BV TELEGRIPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 Hamilton, Wednesday evening A sum ot £8 was taken last night at the concert given by the children of the Hamilton We3t School in aid of the School Library fund. The performance was very good. Oiiaupo, Wednesday evening. A most successful parade of entires was held here yesterday. The Clydesdales were represented by Mr. All will's Bonnie Prince, Mr. Bond's Nugget, the Stud Company's Elgin, Mr. Hill's Prince Charlie, and Mr. Lowden's Sam, the Waikato Land Association's Lothair, Mr. Williamson's Ben Lomond, and Mr. Lamb's Sir Colin. Tho two that seemed to attract most attention were Ben Lomond and Sir Colin, although Lowden's Sam found many admirers. Bonnie Prince, Elgin, Prince Charlie, and Nugget are all very useful horses, and likely to make good seasons. Lothair, a low-set, sound, good-consfcitutioned horse, was in the pink of condition, aud was much admired. The roadsters were represented by the evergreen Merrylegs, who seems as great a favourite as ever. The pony .Nutmeg was also much admired for his symmetry and muscular power. In the thoroughbreds were the Stnd Company's Cap-a-pie, Mr. Allwill's F&ve, Mr. Lamb's Raudwick, Mr. Limmer's King Quail, and Mr. Buckland's Ariel. Of these Uap-a-pie and King Quail attracted most attention; but all of them had their admirers, and Waikato ought to be well satisfied with the clasa of sires with which it is supplied this season.
