ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL
The ordinary meeting of the Council was held on Monday evening. Present—The Mayor (Mr Codlin),. Messrs. JDunwoodie, Fleming, Hastie, Hills, Jackson, Stevenson, and Tapp. l'he minutes and correspondence were read. . New Cou> cillobs. —The three ' newly elected Councillors made the usual declaration. ' Brass Band.—An application, for thp patronage of the Council to an entertainment to be given for the benefit of tlia instructor and leader of the Onehnnga Brass Band, Mr Curtice, was granted. ' Works.—The Inspector's report on the complaints from surface water in Arthurstreet was read. The proposed work, and also ■ the formation of portions of Selwynstreet, Victoria-street, and Captain-street, were placed on the list of works for future consideration. ■ Accounts. — Current accounts to the amount of £50 were passed for payment. TbEasUKER. —This office having become vacant, by reason of Mr. Stevenson, who had filled it for some years having been elected a Councillor, the Town Clerk; Mr. J, Gr» Hutchison, was appointed. Several notices of motion we're given, and the Council adjourned. [—Own Correspondent, September 25.]
