WAIKATO DISTRICT NEWS.

[from our own correspondents.] Hamilton, Monday. Messrs. Atkinson and Way, members of the Hamilton Highway Board, have made an inspection cf the works required for the approaches to the Mystery Creek Bridge on the Hamilton side, and the Highway Board' ia prepared to do its portion o£ the work of making this bridge passable, as requested by the Pukekura Board, who are also prepared to do theirs.

The capture of a horse lost a year ago by Mr. : Deegan, of Hamilton, was made on Saturday. The horse, originally bought from the natives, and two others, were lost and seen beyond Ohaupo this time last year, and nothinc more heard of them. On Saturday Mr. Deegan recognised one of them at Frankton, waiting and others, the property of Mr. John McSolvin, a horse-dealer, at Ellerslie, to go down by that morning's train. Mr. Deegan took Sergeant McGovern down to Frankton just before the starting of the train, proved the identity of the horse with that he ' had lost, and took it away. McSolvin bought the animal fairly enough at Buckland's sale, on the 15th instant, and now the question will be to trace the owner- . ship back.;--; -■->■■■ ;.-y> ■ „." ;: -''■'".y '■'■>'> '■ ' Cambridge,.Monday;-'.;:.
