Caoese: Goo-', quality sells freely at fair prices; second and inurier difficult to quit. Poultry continues to sell at high prices, fruit has somewhat advanced in price. Furniture is in good demand. Tuesdav; Sale of household furniture, etc., at mart. A fair* attendance. Prices rati:factory. Wednesday: Sale of household furniture at "Srey-strect. The attendance was good, and fair prices w-:re obtsinud. Thursday: -aleof Holiart and Sydney fruit. A good number present. A little advanced in prices. Hobart crab apples sold at 03 3d to Cs <Jd per case; Sydney oranges, 7s to Ss ; Auckland lemons, 6d per doz Sydney lemons, Ds Gd per case ; Murray's jam, 3s to 4s 3d per doz.; Sweod turnips, 2s 6d : hams, 8d per lb. The sale of boolis (a well selected library) was well attended, and tlioro was good competition throughout; fair priccs were realized. Friday: Market day sale of poultry produce, fruit, etc., at Mart. Thore I ■was a good attendance, and a fair business was dona. Poultry sold at high prices. A pood number entered, but little demand for potatoes. Other produce sold at fair prices; most of the linos were cleared out. Sd; jam, 63 to Gs 6d; damaged sugar, Id to 3la ; lemons, 2d to 4id ; apples, 10s ; tea (bos), 21s : sugar, Sid to 4Jd; saft, ss; wheat, 3s Gd. Messrs. John and E. Leydon report this day's sale as being exceedingly good, notwithstanding the present state of trade. Drapery ani clothing sold well, realising prices over the reserves. Carpets brought from 2s 4d to 2s 8d per yard; oouches, 25s to 35s ; stuff-bottomed chairs, 7s to 7s Gd ; cane-bottomed chairs, 4s Od lo 53 ; round and oblong tibles, 23s to 273 Cd ; mirrors, 12s Gd ; palliasses, 12s Gd to 15s Cd. A large quantity of cutlery, glassware, and tinware was offered, and commanded fair prices. Teas, new season. Is 3d per lb. in 12-lb. boxes; sugar, £37 10s ; Oamaru potatoes. £4 10s : Canterbury bacon and hams, 9id to lOld ; dairy fod bacon, 7d lb.; flour, catmeal, and soap at mailers' prices.
